Hello everyone! It's been a long time. School work, you know. Starting 4 projects at the same time, so i am super busy and super excited. Bad news are that my camera was stolen from my checked-in luggage, when i was coming back from Budapest. So i have no pics to show from hungary, and have no camera to do nicer pics. But anyways. Now its very exciting week in barcelona.

So first day was an event 32 edicion modafad in amazing place - moritz factory all made of glass and stone. Former student of IED Alejandra Anglada was presenting her fashion show. Was very nice to have some social life apart from studying.

I admire those animals. This force, beauty, smart and intellectual eyes. Though i am a bit scared of them. But i feel always this strange feeling that i need to come closer and to overcome the fear. So while we were on our christmas weekend in andorra, Gabriel drived us to Santa Julia, so i can touch the horse, hahah. We sneaked into someone's farm with huge horses eating grass, where i could make my recent dream come true.

Alice in Wonderland Syndrome
Unlike the namesake of this disorder, sufferers of Alice in Wonderland Syndrome perceive their body parts and other objects in altered sizes. AIWS is commonly associated with migraines, brain tumors, use of psychoactive drugs, and signs of epilepsy and mononucleosis. This is also called Todd’s Syndrome.

Rapunzel SyndromeThis syndrome is named after the fairy tale princess with beautiful and astonishingly long hair in one of Brothers Grimm’s bedtime stories. The Rapunzel Syndrome is a rare intestinal condition in humans resulting from tricophagia, or the abnormal urge to eat one’s hair. This diagnosis is medically referred to as trichobezoar. In ancient times, the hair found in intestinal tracks are believed to be an elixir of some sort, able to cure lots of diseases.

Cinderella Syndrome
Named after the main character in one of Charles Perrault’s fairy tales, this syndrome refers to the common phenomenon in kids where they make exaggerated stories about how they are abused, mistreated, or neglected by adoptive/step-parents. This is different from ‘Cinderella Complex’, which is said to be women’s fear of independence and an unconscious desire to be taken care of by ‘stronger’ others (like metaphorical Fairy God moms or Princes Charming).

Peter Pan Syndrome
“I don’t want to grow up!” says J.M. Barrie’s popular character from Neverland. According to pop-psychology, sufferers of Peter Pan Syndrome are adults who are socially immature. They tend to avoid responsibilities and often feel the need to be mothered.

Dorian Gray Syndrome This syndrome is named after the handsome main character of Oscar Wilde’s book The Picture of Dorian Gray who sells his soul so that his portrait will age instead of himself. Sufferers of DGS are characterized by an excessive preoccupation with their physical appearances and youth, thus having problems in terms of coping with aging. Often, people with DGS have narcissistic traits and are heavily reliant on cosmetic procedures and products.

Othello Syndrome
Sufferers of Othello syndrome, very much like the namesake of this disorder from one of Shakespeare’s works, are characterized by intense and often delusional distrust of their partners. This syndrome is also called morbid jealousy and is often associated with alcoholism and sexual dysfunction. It can also be found in the context of schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.

Pollyanna Syndrome
Named after Eleanor Porter’s protagonist in her best-selling children’s book, Pollyanna Syndrome is the psychological phenomenon wherein a person becomes blindly or foolishly optimistic to a point that it’s almost delusional.

Emperor’s Clothes Syndrome
The Emperor’s Clothes Syndrome is more like a mentality than a disorder. It got its name from Hans Christian Andersen’s tale where no one in town—until the kid speaks—is pointing out that the Emperor is naked because no one wants to be called ‘stupid’ or ‘unfit’ for their positions. People who have ECS claim that they know something even if they don’t, in order to avoid being judged as stupid or intellectually inferior to others.

Mowgli SyndromeThis syndrome is named after the beloved main character of Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book, Mowgli. Mowgli is a boy who is raised by animals. Kids with this syndrome are said to have weak mental and/or physical traits, especially those who have suffered tremendous emotional stress due to parental neglect and abuse.

Huckleberry Finn Syndrome
This is named after one of Mark Twain’s boy characters that became darlings to the readers, Huck Finn. It’s a psychodynamic complex in which the obligations and responsibilities avoided as a child, eventuate into frequent job changes and absenteeism as an adult. The HFS may be a defense mechanism linked to parental rejection, low self-esteem and depression in an intelligent person.

Yes there was a reason i wasn't updating last days. Here you can see it. My vanilla planifolia dress.

Don't be confused by the name, you won't see any vanilla on it, but you can see my "own" fabric. This project was exciting cause we needed to create our patterns and then our fabric was printed in Madrid and delivered to Barcelona. The theme was catalan modernism. I got an amazing book as a present - picasso erotic sketches (must-have to look at) and i was quite inspired, made a small research and appeared there is the whole interesting world.

So here is dress i made using the fabric i got with my own print. I did it all with hand drawings, then using photoshop and illustrator. Went out great, except of fabric quality (we couldn't chose fabric we like) and black drawings went out green, but this i liked a lot.

Want to say huge thanks to my boyfriend Sir for amazing photoshoot, even everything was last minute, and my model Fanny, hope we keep on working, cause this dress was seems like to be done exactly for you. And thanks everyone for your love and inspiration, it were two hard days, now its friday and i am out for a couple of Spritzs :) Have a nice weekend.

Russia day 3-7: Rain, Snow, Coffee

Writing this post, being already long time in Barcelona. There are just couple of pics left from my trip back home. So i just need to post them to fulfill the picture. And yeah i was lucky enough to have seen the first snow, when i was lying in bed, i just jumped out of bed in my pajama shorts, with my camera running downstairs, but unfortunately i didn't succeed in picturing those tiny snowflakes.

Last days was just about enjoying my time with friends, family, hiding from rain and cold, drinking lots of coffee.

Russia day 2-3: Yellow, orange and cats

My home-town Yaroslavl met me with amazing weather. I guess i brought a piece of sunshine to this place. My city is extremely beautiful in autumn. Everything yellow, orange, blah, blah, blah... Anyways you need to see it. And no need to explain how nice it is to walk around with your family and friends (whom you haven't seen a pretty long time). And looking forward, those two days, even one and a half were the only nice days in my stay, cause those outdoor pics are the last :D After it was always rain and rain.

So my stay began quite normal. I arrived home, where everything remained the same, my cats greeted me nicely, so now one of them is following me all around. I was so curious to appear again in my room. I had a feeling that i am a stranger who has a chance to take a look on personal belongings of another person. And it was quite excited, because i noticed some really interesting details and things, which one year ago i didn't take seriously. I immediately made a mess around :D you know, to mark my territory. And the other day i even had to clean my room even i am staying only one week.

Mentioning clothes i took with me... Kinda funny cause i have the only one warm zara sweater, a long one, i was wearing it the first day when it was +20, and after that though i wanted to wear other cloths as well, i was always cold. And i am actually enjoying it. Makes your mind soooo fresh :D

Finished my hard work and i have my deserved holiday at home. It's been a while i haven't visited russia. So now it was the best time, when i had a spare week between work and school starts. So i left sunny bcn, then had a stopover in super cold and rainy vienna and on the friday afternoon i got to gray gray moscow. Moscow is still crowded, people are not smiling, all girls are still wearing black leather jackets with black leggings. But anyways beauty of russian autumn with all shades of yellow and orange is amazing. Hello, home!

Intense month of my work at ITMA is over. Even i was so looking forward to finish it, it was kinda sad, cause i've met a lot of nice people, i've got great working experience. This was quite tiring - 30 days with everyday 12 hours working. And i had only one half-day off during this month. But yes we did it. And i am quite proud of being a part of the main textile machinery exhibition in the whole world. So here i want to share you some pics from our Staff party.

So here we are. Last summer night. I wanted to post my mobile pictures of my summer memories. We love wool is a global street style competition, which is such a pleasure to participate in. Woolmark's "find fashion by feelings" lookbook invites people to post their favorite wool looks into one of 12 "feelings" categories. Then users are encouraged to vote for the outfits they like the most, with the most "loved" look will win AUD$12,000 of holiday and wool experience. And the voters can win as well, every week an Emu Australia prize pack in value of AUD$400.

Madrid Me Mata

I am back from my small Madrid trip. Need to say first, that Madrid is continuing to be a mystery for me. Yes, I've been to most touristic places, and saw a lot in the city. But I didn't quite get the spirit. Need to repeat it again, and i feel like doing it. So to resume, i think barcelona is much more comfortable and cozy to stay in, though Madrid is quite bigger. i was so fascinated by Palacio de crystal - so fragile, so transparent, so beautiful. And its just amazing to have a huge park right in city center. I as well enjoyed Chueca area with nicely dressed people and small shops. We were eating nice food all the time, drinking teas and coffees, and i went for a nice shopping as well getting a leather skirt, pair of my desired so bad Timbaland boots and my favorite Topshop jeans. It was kind of lame i didn't go out there, but i was so exhausted during the day by walking a lot. And yeah Prado museum. SO huge, can't believe. We were walking there two hours and were still on the zero floor. There is just too much. And a great tip: it's free for students. Just need to ask and show your ID.

But still i has a feeling of i am missed something really important and cool, but i don't know what. So here are some pics. Enjoy and have a nice weekend. Leaving to Andorra tomorrow, yay!

All adventures always happen suddenly and you can't plan them. Its the law. But you can choose your adventure. just by deciding which road you wanna take: left or right. on my sunday night we were doing this quite literally. I am not really up to telling details like we had a nice forest walk at night. I can tell that this was a bit creepy. and i proved that tibidabo has wild pigs. and i also proved that h&m shoes can survive any hiking, camping or wild boars..:) Click "Wanna see more?" for all photos.

I am living in Barcelona almost one year. And i have been to the beach more times in winter than in summer. Yes, eventually now i am living 15 minutes far walking to the beach instead of 3 minutes before. But still. I was so happily waiting for summer, to swim, get tanned, play on the beach, but when it came the right time to do that, i actually don't. I think number of my fingers is enough to count the times i spend on the beach this summer. In some point i understand i don't really like it. I mean going to the beach directly to get tanned, lie like seals. Yes, i had really great evenings, and daytimes as well spent on the beach, but they were mostly in spring, when it's just getting warmer. I miss those days. Anyway. Lately my body told me: "Hey, you need some sun". And as soon as i didn't want to share my friends experience of meeting a sea-rat in la playa de barceloneta, i decided to call up helga and go to sitges. Yes this place is definitely worth of going if you need to choose between water with rats and plastic bottles and nice, clean beach with amazing sea smell, which i am always trying to feel in barcelona but don't succeed. And those white houses with blue windows.. just amazing

What makes you feel being a citizen of some city and a grown-up at the same moment? saturday evening coming back from Corte Ingles with a tote full of food. Saturday evenings are meant for going out right? I think I forgot a little. So I was just trying to make my way home with my future dinner/breakfast around all tourists making thousands of useless "i wanna pic in front of this monument" photographs. So, yes carrying food at 9 p.m. on Saturday made me feel like i belong to Barcelona and i am kind of a creature that actually almost lives but its own. And i enjoyed it a lot.

P.S. i just literally killed my day writing new html code for my blog. i thought "we" needed some change. And sorry if there are some small defects. I'm gonna fix it soon.

P.P.S. there are two complains i need to clear up: first - about me always writing in english {ok, guys, time to say that... i really feel like i can explain things more "nice" in english, and i really like it more like this; and of course a lack of time}, second - about having button "click to see more" or whatever you can call it. {yes, thanks, i really need this kind of feedback, i am doing this for sure next time}

How i wish i could have a dog in Barcelona! Who's gonna be my best friend, waking me up in the morning, and falling asleep together. Running through the beach everyday and come back home all in sand. Walking around narrow streets and saying hello to other lovely mascotas. Actually Barcelona is a dog paradise. Every small park, green territory is full of playing with each other dogs. So happy they are here. There is a store near my apartment, with small puppies, who are sitting in big plastic boxes, like in 90's american cinemas. And they all stand up on their toes and try to reach you, and the can't. Such a cute and sad scene. Once i even had a chance to play with a small pug there, who really made my day hahaha. For now i am a very good friend of Stella. The craziest and funniest creature in the world. Kisses, Stella.

Florence syndrome

Stendhal syndrome, Stendhal's syndrome, hyperkulturemia, or Florence syndrome is a psychosomatic illness that causes rapid heartbeat, dizziness, fainting, confusion and even hallucinations when an individual is exposed to art, usually when the art is particularly beautiful or a large amount of art is in a single place. The term can also be used to describe a similar reaction to a surfeit of choice in other circumstances, e.g. when confronted with immense beauty in the natural world.

The illness is named after the famous 19th-century French author Stendhal (pseudonym of Henri-Marie Beyle), who described his experience with the phenomenon during his 1817 visit to Florence in his book Naples and Florence: A Journey from Milan to Reggio.

This syndrome was first described in 1979. And there are some interesting facts about:

Tourists from North America or Asia are not affected by this syndrome, because it's not connected with their culture.
Italian tourists have immunity as well
Most of the cases of Stendhal's crisis happen while visiting Florence museums. And sometimes people affected by this syndrome want even to destroy the masterpiece. Thats why security in Florence museums are taught how to act in this cases.

Hey, guys! It took me a bit long to get into life again after 5 days out of this world on FIB festival in Benicassim. Can i just say that it was really amazing. I advice you to go to music festivals, even if you are alone. Fall in love with musicians, make all-over-the-world friends, and get inspired!

The only thing i won't advice you as taking your professional camera, if you don't have a vip pass. I was not lucky enough though i have no pics at all :)

Here wanna show you a really funny thing that i made for printing process class (where we were using silk screen printing and transfer inks for creating patterns on fabric). So i am like always haha was inspired by native americans and i made this fun hood which consists of my fabric samples :)

I was so happy to take part in this project - a photo and video shoot for Vintage Me store in Barcelona. On friday 10th at 18.00 there's gonna be a presentation of work we've done. Again thanks all! It was fun. And now enjoy :)

isolation

Long time past since i finished my 'constructivism' inspired dress, it was already presented and now occupies honored place on the dummy at IED space. Kind of happy my dress was chosen, cause i really have no space at home to store it :) i can't even fold it or just put in the corner, cause there is no free corners anymore haha. So at least some time while it's exhibited this problem won't bother me.

So... The process of creation was super random. Well i've got a really clear concept of soviet society isolated from other world. But i have not got clear idea how it's gonna be shown in a dress.

The task was to make a look consisting of deconstructed garments and unusual material. In my case they were a trenchcoat and a shirt deconstructed into a half part shirt + plastic as unusual material. This kind of plastic is sewable, but it'n not that easy. The annoying thing was that my home sewing machine was not able to do it, so i needed to stay in the lab every day coming back to school in the evening.

But the result was really worth it - i got nice experience working with plastic, and really got inspired a lot for doing other things that way.

So here we are.. From the 'basic' plastic bustier to the finished look.

This are photos made by me for my contemporary trends project. My plan was a creation of small magazine which will promote Bicing in Barcelona as a sustainable way of moving around the town. Thats what i am doing. So the idea of this photosession was to show people that you can even travel somewhere outside of crowed touristic center and explore another parts of Barcelona.
